A game that smells "Jerome Defoe" a long way.
Southampton are not doing very well lately. They have 6 losses in the last 7 league games, a poor away record (2-3-7, 10-17), and Van Dijk is out for a few months injured. They also have a league cup final to think about soon. They have played a lot of games this winter, so squad fatigue is starting to show with injuries, etc.
Sunderland beat Palace in convincing fashion last weekend, and theremay be small signs of recovery. It is tight at the bottom, and a few wins will propel them quite high up the table.
It will be a tight game, but Sunderland have been in this mess before, and will not be stressed by being bottom right now.
I got a feeling this will be a well paid home win, and at odds over 4, it is worth a solid punt, imho.
