Eliteserien 2017 - Top goalscorer:
The reigning champions Rosenborg has signed 29 year old Nicklas Bendtner from Nottingham Forest, and the Danish striker has scored 2 goals in 15 league games this season.
The big question is, in what state are Nicklas Bendtner really in, after some bad seasons for his standards.
Its very rare that a player with experience from Wolfsburg, Juventus, Arsenal the latest years, appears in the Norwegian top division.
The top scorer in Tippeligaen 2016, Christian Gytkjær, was signed from Haugesund in January 2016, and scored 19 goals in 28 league games for Rosenborg last season, and Bendtner will surely get many chances up front when playing for Rosenborg. (Gytkjær was sold to 1860 Munchen, Germany, earlier this pre-season)
Other key players like Mushaga Bakenga, Pål Andre Helland, Mike Jensen and Mathias Vilhjalmson will surely also score, but the center forward position usually ends up with the most goals in Rosenborg.
Betsafe offer 2.25 for Bendtner to become top goalscorer in Eliteserien, 10bet offer 3.70, while Unibet offer 4.50.
Molde lost many goalscorers during the 2016 season, and Harmeet Singh (Mid 26/5), Fredrik Gulbrandsen (Att 9/4), Mohammed Elyounoussi (Att 12/5) and Eidur Gudjohnsen (Att 13/1) are all gone. Molde have many candidates to score up front this season though, like Bjørn Bergmann Sigurdarson, Sander Svendsen, Fredrik Brustad, Mathias Mostrøm, and new signing Ottar Magnus Karlsson (Att - Vikingur Reykjavik - Iceland).
Bjørn Bergmann Sigurdarson (Att) has proved to be a top scorer candidate in the top division earlier seasons for Lillestrøm, and he scored 4 goals in 11 league games for Molde last season. The Iceland International striker is priced at 23.00 to be the top goalscorer this season by 10bet, and he will surely get to many chances up front for Ole Gunnar Solskjærs side.
Odd havent done transfers in front of this season, and the medal candidates are often producing lots of chances, especially when playing in front of their home supporters at Skagerak Arena.
Young starlet Rafik Zeknini (Att 22/5) has been on "the one to watch" list for quite a while now, and with a good start for Odd this season, ill be very surprised if he doesnt leave Skien in the summer, so no value to back him in this contest.
Target man Olivier Occean (Att 28/10) scored 10 goals for Odd last season, but he has reached 35 years old now. He will surely score on headers at set-pieces in the 2017 season as well, but I rate him under the other top candidates for the top scorer title.
New signing Torbjørn Agdestein (Att - Haugesund) is hard to predict, due to how many games he will start, and in what position he will play. His pace can create a lot of trouble, and he scored 10 goals for Haugesund as top striker last season, but Occean will most likely still be the first choice up front.
Vålerenga has not been a easy team to predict the latest seasons. Ups and downs, come and gos, money in, money out. Some steady changes seem to be in the making for the 2017-18 seasons though.
Former Strømsgodset and Celtic manager Ronny Deila is now in full charge of the Oslo side, and they will have a new stadium ready for the second part of the 2017 season.
The talented midfielder Sander Berge has been sold to Belgian side Genk, while former Brann starlet Bård Finne (Att) has been signed from German side Heidenheim.
The key recepie for success must be to keep the former Hannover 96 and Stuttgart striker, Mohammed Abdellaoue (Att 18/7), clear of injuries though.
"Moa" has scored 7 goals in his 3 latest pre-season games, and seem finally close to 100% in front of the 2017 season.
With the boost of getting a new stadium, and the "Ronny-effect", Vålerenga may fight medals this season, and I see value in backing Moa to become the top scorer goalscorer in Eliteserien 2017.
Strømsgodset disappointed a bit last season, and ended 7th after many years in the very top. Coach Bjørn Petter Ingebretsen has retired, and former Molde coach Tor Ole Skullerud is now in charge of the Drammen side.
Strømsgodset have lost players like star midfielder Mohammed Abu (Mid 27/0) and veteran winger Øyvind Storflor (Mid/Att 24/4), but they have signed former Lillestrøm defender Stian Ringstad, the former Stabæk star Henning Hauger (Mid - Elfsborg, Sweden) and the top scorer in OBOS-Ligaen 2016, Pontus Engblom (Sandnes Ulf).
Top striker Marcus Pedersen scored 8 goals in 19 league games last season, but he scored only one goal away from home. With Tommy Høiland, and the top scorer in OBOS-Ligaen 2016, Pontus Engblom, also fighting a place in the lineup, and a new coach, Pedersen will really have the pressure to deliver this season.
He has not impressed in pre-season, and only goalscorer bets when playing at home recommended at the moment.
Nicklas Bendtner is already the favorite to become the top goalscorer in Eliteserien 2017, just a couple of days after he has arrived in Trondheim. The 29 year old Dane are used to play at much higher level than in the Norwegian top division, and even though its been a while since hes been a top scorer, he will be the favorite on his potential.
If hes no immidiate success to the reigning champions, it may take time for him to adapt though, and the odds for strong topscorer candidates like Mohammed Abdellaoue (Vålerenga) and Bjørn Bermann Sigurdarson (Molde) have absolutely value this season imo.
Eliteserien 2017 - Top goalscorer:
Moa Abdellaoue (Vålerenga), 4/10 stakes, odds 12@10bet.
Nicklas Bendtner (Rosenborg), 3/10 stakes, odds 4.50@Unibet.
Bjørn Bergmann Sigurdarson (Molde), 3/10 stakes, odds 23@10bet.
