Tonight Checkers meet Admirals who are last placed in North Division and most likely they will not qualify in the play offs if they don’t start winning. Norfolk was last year champions and I know Norfolk is not the same team from last season, but there is some winning sprit left, at least for the play offs. Anaheim Ducks call Peter Holland and Brandon McMillan to NHL. Holland score 3 and McMillan in a last weekend game against Norfolk Admirals ending with 6-2 result. Now with those players gone hardly that Norfolk will have the luck to score so many goals. But Patrick Maroon was sent down to Admirals after he didn’t make any impression in Ducks team after 9 games and score 1 goal, but he is with 13 goals and 16 assists in Admirals and that’s why he was called in Ducks in the first place. Ducks playing with the chemistry in the Admirals team and I believe if this transaction don’t stop at this phase of the championship will lead to negative results.
After win in the first, Checkers give this second game to Barons win last night in back to back game. It was as I expected when Baron and Checkers are in same Division. Checkers as I mentioned yesterday are without their main goaltender. John Muse just couldn’t do more last night, unlucky for him is that he was on the net this weekend where Admirals top Checkers with 6-2. Maybe we will see Rob Madore for the first time in AHL tonight, but imo this will do the things only worst.
Zac Dalpe, A. J. Jenks, Andreas Nodl and Jerome Samson remain out due to injury, while Riley Nash and Brett Sutter have joined Drayson Bowman and Tim Wallace in Carolina. For tonight with Justin Shugg questionable due to injury last night, force the team to include 7 forwards from ECHL. Also when all expected waver Zach Boychuk the leading scorer for Checkers to be back I the team he was assign to Nashville Predators. Checkers have the points and they’re on one safe place for the play offs entry, for now so they can experiment a bit.
