Friday 11.02.2022 - Mens 15 km Individual (Classic):
Winter Olympics Beijing 2022 - Cross-Country Skiing
Zhangjiakou Zone - National Cross-Country Skiing Centre
Event start: 08:00 CET (15:00 Local time)
As most of you already know, I have already made early bets from November on Iivo Niskanen (Finland) to win at odds 4, and Alexey Chervotkin (Russia) top 3 at odds 11 (and small win cover at odds 61).
I also felt it was likely that Johannes Hosflot Klabo (Norway) was likely to skip the 15 Km Classic, as he has strong gold chances in Skiathlon (6th of February), Mens Sprint (8th of February), Mens Relay (13th of February), Team Sprint Finals (16th of February) and the 50 Km at the end (19th of February).
After finishing Tour De Ski as a clear winner, Klabo proved that he can deliver strong performances even with short breaks in high altitude, and what a Classic race he delivered in Val di Fiemme.
Iivo Niskanen had no chance to follow him at the final lap of the 15 Km Classic Mass Start then.
Things may be different in the Olympics, as Niskanen can rest while Klabo will go for Gold at the Sprint 3 days before, but I believe Klabos chances to claim his first Olympic/World Championship gold at a Individual distance never have been better than right now.
As mentioned above, this will be a cover bet to my earlier bets on Niskanen/Chervotkin, and there is a chance Klabo will not start this 15 Km Classic in order to rest for other events. If he does start though, I see him as equal favorite to Iivo Niskanen, after his impressive performance at the 15 Km Classic Mass Start in Val di Fiemme.
Unibet/Expekt best with 4.25 for Klabo as we speak.
Pick: Johannes Hosflot Klabo (Norway) to win, 10/10 stakes, odds 4.25@Unibet. Good luck!
