Super 15 Rugby in which Betfred have once again been exceedingly / ludicrously generous on such a small spread for the a Chiefs win at -4 on the European handicap after last week inviting punters to make merry with Cheetahs (EH -7) against the Southern Kings when everyone else was under 1.50.
Well they have done it again here with offering -4 on the Chiefs @ 1.91 when everyone else is offering average odds of -3 @ 1.40 / -6 @ 1.62 / -7 @ 1.67.
The only reason I can think that they have gone this route is taking into recognition the narrow defeat by the 'once formidable' Crusaders last week. However Crusaders are 'not yet' the force they usually are (usually get stronger at the business end of the season and will certainly this year when McCaw is back)...however they forget that this Rebels side are weak up front (Chiefs have been criticised for lacking direction up front - but they will still be way too strong for this Rebels pack), have gaping holes in their midfield which are likely to be exploited by probably the best attacking side in the tournament (especially in the loose) and a back line that although on paper have absolute quality, have yet to fire this season as they have so often be starved of enough ball or at least clean ball.
You cannot completely write Rebels off with the likes of Beale (although he is starting on the bench after his bust up with the coach / team-mate) however all things being equal, the Chiefs who got their season back on track with a 1st half four try mauling of a tough South African Sharks outfit last week should have simply too much.
At any rate Betfred have certainly got it wrong!
