Concacaf Champions League Final, 1st leg.
FInal time after a lengthy CCL and for the first time we have MLS team being favoured to win. For years it's only Mexican teams winning it and representing Concacaf region in WC for clubs, but TFC has a great chance to break the streak now. They've already got the moniker of being the best MLS team ever after a dominant last season, and now they managed to eliminate two top MX teams Tigres and Club America in consecutive round in an impressive fasion. So now cherry on the cake would be winning the trophy, and their opponent is weakest Mexican team of all three they've faced.
Having said that, Chivas is by no means a weak team, they got to the final eliminating two very good MLS teams in last two rounds, Seattle and NY Red Bulls. However, the reason I give very good chances to TFC winning at home is that Chivas didn't really impress in their away games, they lost in Seattle (0-1) and were lucky to escape with a narrow defeat, while they managed to grind out 0-0 draw in New York despite Red Bulls dominating in shots 20-1! On top of that they have been very poor in MX league sitting at 15th place and can't seem to handle playing two games a week.
TFC sent a reserve team this weekend to Colorado, their starters haven't played a weekend game in awhile with whole focus being on CCL and bringing the trophy home. Altidore was subbed early in game vs Culb America with foot injury, but it seems to be a minor injury and he is expected to start. Toronto managed to beat both Tigres and Club America at home, I'd be very surprised if they don't bring the advantage with them to Mexico this time as well.
